Today the new iPhone from Apple was released to the public. For months now we have been subjected to advertisements on tv, radio and other venues trying to get our attention about the new phone. Apple claims that this is the best iPod that they have ever made, they also claim that it is the best wireless phone on the market today. At this time it is only available on the AT&T network, which is supposed to help AT&T surge ahead of the competition hands down. The question is --- Do you want one?In this day of keeping up with the Jones's, it is hard not to want one of these new gadgets. I use my wireless phone a lot, and I also get frustrated with it a lot. My wireless company claims to have the least dropped calls of any network. This may be a true statement, but let me tell you -- my phone drops a lot of calls! I cannot use my wireless phone inside the church building, or some grocery stores, and many other places. I drive down 12th street to go to and from the church. Everytime I get to Sippo Lake, my phone dies for several minutes. My phone is a SLIVER (last years latest technology craze). Maybe it's my phone and not the network. I also have NO COVERAGE in Holmes County and Carroll County.
What I really want is a wireless phone that works when I need it. Yes, I would love to have the iPhone. I would love to beat all my friends to the punch. If I had my way, I would have a new wireless phone every year but my budget tells me otherwise. The iPhone starts at $500.00 for the 4GB version and is $600.00 for the 8GB version. The monthly service ranges from $60.00 per month up to $100.00 per month. Today there were people waiting in lines for 10 hours or more to purchase one of these phones. Apple and AT&T is limiting each customer to two phones at this time.
I wonder who will be the first of my friends to get one? Perhaps they will let me play with it a bit.

Well,it won’t be me or Gary that gets that phone first. I tire so easily of the ringing phone. I feel like I need another arm because it is something else that pulls me away from what i am already doing. Don’t get me wrong…we both have cell phones and every once and a while when i have time, i sit down and make a few phone calls of my own, but it is usually not for leasure…it is usually because my life is so busy..the phone calls are out of necessity. I am pulling for the pony express to make it’s big come back for our communication! I think that would be much less stressful. :)
